TechnoServeKijiweni Uplift is dedicated to transforming lives in Mikindani, Mombasa through comprehensive community development programs. We focus on education, health, women's empowerment, and food security to create lasting change.
We envision a future where every young person is not just a beneficiary but an active participant and architect of their own success. This involves ensuring that all youth are comprehensively economically empowered, equipped with the necessary skills, resources, and opportunities to achieve sustainable livelihoods and financial independence.
Founded in the heart of Mikindani, Mombasa, Kijiweni Uplift started as a small grassroots initiative by community members who saw the need for collective action. What began as weekend food drives and after-school tutoring has grown into a full-fledged community-based organization impacting thousands of lives.
Today, with over 200 dedicated volunteers and 50 community partners, we run 12 active programs covering education, healthcare, women's empowerment, food security, and shelter. Our name, "Kijiweni," means "at the foundation" — reflecting our belief that strong communities are built from the ground up.
